It is now four years since I became interested in Christian Science and was healed of what had been diagnosed as tubercular glands. For nearly a year I had been taking X-ray treatments of a specialist, but this had failed to heal or help me. My general health was impaired, and life did not seem to offer me much at that time. I had been prejudiced against Christian Science, but finally a dear friend persuaded me to try it, as it seemed to be the only thing left.

When I first called on the practitioner, she asked what she could do for me. I told her I thought she could do a great deal, and through her understanding of God as all-power and man perfect and eternal, she patiently led me out of the shadows into the light of Truth. I was relieved of pain with the first treatment, and in two weeks was entirely free of the pain in my head, and an enlargement under my ear had disappeared. One month after taking my first Christian Science treatment I went back to the doctor, and after he had examined my neck and shoulder he said I was well, that there was no trace left of the former trouble ; nor has it since returned. At this time I was wearing glasses and had done so for over twelve years. I broke them one day, and when I told the Christian Science practitioner she gave me a few treatments for my sight. I have never felt the need of glasses since, or suffered from headache as I did while wearing them. One of my eyes was said to be defective, but through knowing what it means to be God's child my eye has become almost normal. I have also been freed from rheumatism and a weak back.

For eight years I was a member of an orthodox church, but since I began to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and to study it in connection with the Bible, I have truly found health and happiness. I find I am gaining a little each day in the overcoming of error, and I try to follow our blessed Master's teaching. I am truly grateful to our dear Leader for all she has done for me and for the world through her writings, especially Science and Health.
