AMONG THE CHURCHES

On Sunday, Jan, I, Third Church of Christ, Scientist, held the first service in the auditorium of their new church building in Curzon street, Mayfair. The auditorium, with a seating capacity of about fourteen hundred, is nearly completed, and the rest of the building, containing reading-room, etc., is in course of construction.

There was a large congregation, and many visitors and friends from the other London churches and from all parts of England attended both the morning and evening services. At the commencement of the service the First Reader read Mrs. Eddy's letter to Third Church on its formation, printed in the Sentinel May 13, 1905, and spoke as follows:—

"Out of full hearts we offer fervent thanks, that yet another 'structure of Truth and Love' is made manifest. May this Third Church of Christ, Scientist, London, builded of patient prayer and free-flowing love-offerings, built on the rock of Christ, in obedience to divine Principle and in loyalty to our Leader's teachings,—may this church be a beacon of light in the land, a haven of hope for those who, hungering and thirsting after righteousness, seek here the 'still waters' of peace and understanding."—Correspondence.
