Fruits of the White Mountain Chapel

"Though neither dome nor turret tells the tale of your little church, its song and sermon will touch the heart, point the path above the valley, up the mountain, and on to the celestial hills, echoing the Word welling up from the Infinite, and swelling the loud anthem of one Father-Mother, God—o'er all victorious!" (Mrs. Eddy in the dedication message to First Church of Christ, Scientist, Fabyan, N. H. Christian Science Journal, September, 1898).

This loving prophecy of our beloved Leader began its fulfilment on the day it was given to the world. As the phrase "Adorable One," from the spiritual interpretation of the Lord's Prayer (Science and Health, p. 16), was read at the dedication service, the sense of God's oneness so filled the consciousness of a listener who was suffering from headache that he was instantly healed.

A Christian Scientist on the Pacific coast gave a copy of the September Journal for 1898 containing the dedication lesson, to a friend from New Hampshire. This lady read the Bible references and became so interested in them that she bought a copy of Science and Health in order to read the whole lesson. This induced further study and led to her healing, as well as the healing of her husband and that of a friend. From this work a Christian Science service has resulted with a growing congregation.
