With gratitude and thanks to my Father who is in heaven, and with my heart full of love for our Leader. I feel it my duty to acknowledge an abundance of benefits received from the study of Science and Health, and also the help received from kind practitioners. An old stomach trouble disappeared entirely at the first treatment, and I shall never forget how happy I felt that night when I went to sleep.

I was also troubled with palpitation of the heart, and had not dared to sleep on my left side for years, but now I can sleep well in any position. My eyesight had been poor for some time and I used glasses when reading, but now I can get along very well without them. I would catch cold on the slightest change in the atmosphere, but since I came to Christian Science about three years ago, I have not had a single cold, and lots of other ailments have been entirely destroyed.

But the best of all is the understanding I have gained of my Bible. I always thought I was a fairly good man and a Christian, attended church like others and thought the minister would do the rest for my salvation, but in my own heart I was an infidel, although covering the fact so no one would think so. My Bible was never used, but I had it so I could show it to other people. I did not understand it, but used to argue about religion and scoff at Christian Science whenever it was mentioned. Now the Bible and our text-book are my best friends.
