Out of a heart filled with gratitude to God, to Mrs. Eddy the Discoverer of this great truth, and to the one who advised me to try Christian Science, I wish to express my thankfulness for what it has done for me.
About sixteen years ago I had spinal meningitis, which left my nervous system in such a wrecked condition, that I was only able to be about a part of the time and could eat only the lightest of food, and very little of that. In February, 1902, I was compelled to go to bed and remain there about four months. Three of our best physicians pronounced my disease cancer of the bowels, in its worst form, and of a very rapid growth.
A very dear friend came to me in September of the same year and asked me to try Christian Science. I felt I was grasping at a straw in taking it up, but my physicians and friends were satisfied for me to try anything if it would prolong my life.
