In looking over a heap of letters to see what could be...

In looking over a heap of letters to see what could be torn up, I came across one which gave such a good demonstration of the power of Truth to meet every condition of error that I decided to write it out for the Sentinel.

The case was that of a boy belonging to a very refined family, who were interested in Christian Science. An eruption appeared on the boy's body, and at first the mother did not feel at all disturbed about it, but in a remarkably slort time, it was pronounced itch, and the very name seemed to strike her with horror, as she had always associated it with uncleanliness. She tried to meet it herself, but seemed unable to do so. There was a student there to whom she turned for help, but by this time the error had claimed to make such headway that the mother's fears seemed to perplex the student, so she acted upon our Leader's wise counsel (Science and Health, p. 439, old edition) and sent to her teacher for a little assistance. Her next letter states. "I am to tell you that the little boy is much better. As soon as I wrote to you, the mother's fear was broken. I understand now that those lies had been showing themselves for months before anything was said about it, but they did not know what the disease was. The boy is quite bright in the Truth. They could not get him to take any medicine: he declared it was bad. and told me this morning that God was Good and that He had made him better." She said further, "I do not think there was an inch of his body or head that was not covered, his hands being the worst."

A later letter brought the good news that he had been entirely healed, and by no other means than the Truth of Being imparted to his consciousness.
