Disease and Sin Healed by One and the Same Method

Obviously the Christian minister who is unable to comprehend the works of Christ Jesus as included in the doctrine that sin and sickness are healed by one and the same method, and that both have mental causation, is at a serious disadvantage in reclaiming the sinner. Personally, this testimony is a witness to its truth and includes convincing evidence gained in numerous cases in an active practice of upwards of five years.

When Christian Science searched my consciousness it uncovered agnosticism, aggressive worldliness, appetite, hatred, fear, poverty, and numerous physical ailments. The first step out of these erroneous conditions was an improvement thereof, whereby agnosticism gave place to an acceptance of God and of faith in His goodness, worldliness was marvelously tempered with respect for Christian conduct; appetite was overcome through right reasoning; hatred and fear were subjugated by a growing sympathy for the good and the loving; poverty gave way to plenty: while physical ailments, including a disfiguring tumor on the eyelid, chronic neuralgia, and headache disappeared without treatment, as "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," was read and assimilated.

While listening to the delivery by Mrs. Eddy of her liberty address at Concord, July 5, 1897, I was instantaneously healed of the fear of sunstroke by which, three times previously, I had been overcome, and for which I make this tardy acknowledgment with gratitude too deep for words.
