An Easter Song

O, joy that fills the world with song,
O, Resurrection Day.
When angels came a shining throng,
And rolled the stone away.

And Death is vanquished, for Christ rose,
And from that radiant tomb,
Gleam rays of Life, and Truth, and Love,
Which banish fear and gloom.

Fair Easter lilies, bend your heads
In adoration sweet,
And lay your perfumed chalices,
With joy at his dear feet.
