Reading the testimonials of healing in the Journal and Sentinel has always given me great help, increased my faith, and showed me what great obstacles others have removed, both mental and physical. From my cradle I was very sickly. I inherited from my mother nervous headaches that had made her an invalid for over thirty years. I also inherited eczema in a very severe form, which covered different parts of my body, made my left arm useless, and produced a discharge from the ears that caused me to be very deaf. I was so deaf that other people could converse in ordinary tones without my knowing it unless I happened to see their lips move. I was treated by many doctors from my infancy until I was about seven years of age. The physicians then said that I could not be cured. My mother, who about this time turned to Christian Science and received great help, put my case in the hands of a Christian Science practitioner. My healing was slow, but I am now perfectly free. I have not been bothered by nervous headaches for several years, am entirely cured of eczema, and my hearing has been all right for some time.

About a year ago while in the South I contracted malarial fever in a very severe form. In a short time I had lost greatly in weight and was in a bad mental condition. Not being able to work and there being no Christian Scientists where I was, I returned home. Most of the time I was unable to be about, and when a chill came on, which was always followed by a high fever, I would be helpless from six to eight hours. Sometimes these chills came on twice a day, leaving me very weak. As soon as I arrived home I took Christian Science treatment and in the first five days I gained eight pounds and felt a great change, both mental and physical. I was able to eat heartily, whereas before I could scarcely eat anything. In about six weeks after receiving treatment I weighed more than I had ever weighed, and the chills and fever were entirely destroyed.

I have had a number of small ailments to meet, and also great mental trouble, but I have been able to destroy them by knowing my perfection in God mentally, morally, physically, and spiritually. Although I have a number of errors to overcome every day and many yet to be destroyed, I know that by faithfulness I shall in time be victorious.
