The Lectures

Yesterday (Sunday, October 27) was a great day in Christian Science circles in this city, the occasion being the lecture of Judge William G. Ewing of Chicago, on the subject, "Christian Science."

Judge Ewing arrived in our city in the morning and attended the services in the forenoon at First Church of Christ, Scientist. The interior of the little church was tastefully decorated with beautiful flowers and presented a very inviting appearance. A much larger audience than usual was in attendance and after the services many members of the congregation had the pleasure of meeting the distinguished visitor

The lecture occurred in the afternoon at three o'clock at the Opera House. There was a large audience in attendance who listened attentively to the address. The fact that the lecture was in the interest of Christian Science did not prevent members of other congregations from attending, as it was easy to be seen that a very large portion of the audience was made up of members from other churches. That all were well entertained by the interesting and logical discussion of the Christian Science doctrines is proven by the close attention given the speaker.
