A Word of Explanation
The Sunday Globe
To the Editor of The Sunday Globe.
In your issues of September 22 and 29 you make references to Mrs. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, concerning which I ask you kindly to allow me to make some comment.
Christian Scientists alone are in a position to know their true attitude towards their Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and they would be glad to have the public understand them on this point. They do not believe or teach that Mrs. Eddy is divine, and Mrs. Eddy herself most emphatically denies and denounces any such foolishness. They do not think or speak of her in any mysterious, far-fetched way, and there is nothing unnatural or strained in their attitude toward her.
