The Light of Life
Say, is your lamp burning, my brother?
I pray you look quickly and see,
For if it were burning then surely
Some beam would fall brightly on me.
This verse from the little hymn suggests many thoughts as to our duty toward each other; but the questioning should be with self. If our lamp has been lighted, if we have apprehended the Truth as taught in Christian Science, then although "free in Christ" yet we are, in the bonds of Love, under obligations to all humanity to live the Light that has given us a new and true sense of life and its requirements. If this great blessing is ours, we in turn must bless others, or our light will become dim and uncertain.
