Much to be Thankful for

We as Christian Scientists have much to be thankful for. This blessed Truth as explained by Mary Baker G. Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" has been the key that unlocked the door of our consciousness and given the Light to show how we had been in bondage to sin, sickness, and death. It has so plainly pointed the way out of bondage and shown the way to eternal life—continuous life with God. When we know God as Good, and Good as All-in-all, where is there room for anything but Good?

To know Good is ours and that the omnipotent and omnipresent Good is with us, is certainly a grand thought. Do we accept this? Do we practise this without doubt or limitation? It reminds me of the story of the father who had two sons, and he sent each to the granary to bring him a handful of wheat. One brought what he could hold with his hand shut tight, afraid to scatter any; and the other dipped his hand down deep in the bin of wheat and started with a heaping handful, the grain falling all the way, to his father, and yet he had more than his brother, he started with more and he arrived with more, as he knew there was plenty and to spare.

Thus it is with the love of our Father in Heaven; there is plenty and to spare. Do not shut yourself up and hold the good you have; but scatter the seed of Truth by the wayside. It will grow and you will have more.
