Healing in Christian Science
"How is it that ye do not understand?" said Jesus.
Among the many misconceptions concerning Christian Science healing, that of thinking it heals only imaginary complaints is perhaps the most common. Some people say that the Science does good among certain imaginary diseases, while the real cases, of course, need medicines. Again, there are those calling themselves Christian Scientists, who will declare that all kinds of sickness are imaginary, a saying most unwise, unless the meaning is made clear by explanation, as by these sayings the Cause of Truth and its mighty works are made to be lightly esteemed in the thoughts of the people.
Now, what is the fact concerning this question? Why, this: that the various ailments to which mortals are subject have been healed in numberless instances by this Science, after the patients had been given up; and that, whatever the cause or whatever the source of the sickness, Christian Science is proving itself able to destroy the error, and restore the patient to a higher mental, moral, and physical condition.
