Happy, Contented, and Well

For fifteen years I suffered more or less every day from some trouble which made my life a burden. I wished over and over again that I could die, for I did not feel that I had anything to live for. Medicine did not do me any good. Sometimes I obtained relief for a time, but nothing cured me. As long as I could remember I had suffered from biliousness. I would have an attack every fortnight, but after two treatments I was cured. I have also been healed of chronic neuralgia, abscess in the face, and indigestion, by Christian Science treatment. I feel very grateful for what Christian Science has done for me in two years, but it is not only the healing that I am grateful for, but for the beautiful peace that it has brought into my life, such as I never knew before. I feel that words will never express the gratitude I feel towards the lady who first brought Christian Science to my notice and taught me that life was worth living. Two years ago I was a sick, discontented, miserable creature; now, I am happy, contented, and well.—E. E. E., London, N. W., Eng.

Dear Friend:—If you could only see what Christian Science has done for me! Why, the world seems entirely changed in every way. I have drifted so far away from medicines it seems strange that I should ever have believed in them. I stand aghast when I view the past, and think of the power I gave to material things of life. No wonder I so frail when I was leaning upon a reed for support which was ready to bend and break at any moment. Now I look to a higher Power which never fails when we put all trust in Him. You would not know E., she has grown and improved so much. Yes, I ordered "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" some time ago, and read it every day. The light it reveals is simply marvelous, and it makes the Bible so much more interesting. You know I told you that I read it because I had been raised to do so, and because it was right; but now I read it because I love it. What unspeakable joy it is to know there is One who will guide and direct us in all things.—M.
