What Christian Science has Done for Me
Seeing so many good testimonies given in the Sentinel, I think it my duty to give to Christian Science due credit for what it has done for me in overcoming the liquor habit that kept me in bondage for twenty years. I had been told of Christian Science years before, but I would have nothing to do with it. I was constantly in bar-rooms and at gambling-tables; did not think about home or my family. In fact, I was down in the gutter and could not get employment anywhere, but now I have been working for three years in one place.
The thought of turning over a new leaf often came to me, but mortal mind would say, no. Three years ago a Christian Scientist talked to me and I said I would take treatment. I shall never forget that night when Christian Science came to me, and what happiness it has brought to my home. Since that demonstration was made, I saw that we were sitting in darkness. I can now overcome other troubles that come up. People often remark about the change there is in me. My wife has been raised from a bed of sickness after all medical skill had failed to heal her. We are both members of the Christian Science Church here, and our two little boys attend the Sunday School.—Thos. Couch, Grand Forks, N. Dak.
