A Severe Case of Heart Trouble
I wish to add my testimony to those appearing in the Sentinel, and tell of my gratitude to my heavenly Father for the restoration to health, through Christian Science, of a son who was considered a hopeless case. The best physicians in two cities pronounced him incurable, and said that he could not live more than two months.
Not being a Scientist, and not knowing how to trust God in such a matter, I was frantic. My sister-in-law, who is a strong Scientist, asked me if I would not like to try Christian Science. I said, I do not understand it and have but little faith, but I must give him the one chance, as everything has failed.
That day she called on one of the Science healers here and told her about the case. On account of a previous engagement, the Scientist could not come that day, but promised him absent treatment. He was afflicted with a most severe form of heart trouble, the result of a long siege of rheumatism. He had to be almost carried to the table, as he desired to sit with the family for his meals. That night he was leaning on the table, bolstered by pillows as usual, and we had gone to the kitchen to do our evening work. Not long after, the door opened, and in walked my son. He exclaimed, "Oh it is all out of my knees and my heart does not hurt one particle." You can imagine how he felt, after weeks of extreme suffering and helplessness. You can imagine a mother's joy and happiness as well. He never returned to his old condition, but improved daily. He was under treatment but three weeks. To-day he is a strong and healthy boy.
