The training of children is conceded to be one of the important problems of this human existence.

Solomon, who stood highest in wisdom, suggested his methods with great earnestness, having seen the evil effects of one self-willed, spoiled child in a household and the final destruction of his beautiful brother Absalom, through self-will, disobedience, and disregard of justice to one of the most devoted fathers ever known through history.

The object of training is evidently to bring a thing up to its highest capacity for good, and only the line of training is changed to suit the object trained. Various animals have been by rigid discipline brought up to a remarkable degree of intelligence and usefulness.
