A Good Investment
When Christian Science was first brought to my notice by one of my customers I did not feel as though I could afford to pay three dollars for "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." This gentleman, seeing I was looking for the Truth, kindly loaned me a copy (this was an extra copy he had, which later I learned he kept, like a great many other Scientists, expressly for lending). Before I had read it through I could afford to buy one for myself, and a five dollar one at that. Right here I might say it was the best investment that I ever made or ever hope to make; and if I could not duplicate it, money could not buy it. I have always been somewhat opposed to getting something for nothing, but I must admit that I have had so much for little or nothing through Christian Science that I absolutely know that if one is earnestly looking for the Truth it can be found as free as water.
It seems to me after most careful observation that the price of Science and Health is a most wise one. It is within the reach of every one who wants it—even the convict gets it, and any one who desires to investigate Christian Science honestly and earnestly may do so.
In a spirit of gratefulness I can truthfully say from personal experience that the poor, or those without money, have equal opportunities, if they are honest in their desire; and any price that may be set on Christian Science literature or class instruction will never stand in the way of earnest seekers, be they rich or poor.
