Christian Science
St. Joseph (Mo.) Gazette
All over this land and wherever Christian Science has been introduced it has met with much bitter and stubborn opposition. Many are wondering and asking why this should be when Christian Science is good and good only, healing the sick and casting out error of every kind, promoting health, happiness, virtue, and prosperity in the family and in the community. Why is it that it meets with opposition? And, coming still nearer home, why does that within individual consciousness rise up in rebellion against this grand Truth, that is ever a present help in time of need, and when understood aright would make us free? Does it not all arise,
First: From ignorance of Christian Science and what it includes, ignorance of its divine origin and its basic principles as laid down in its text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker G. Eddy, and other works by the same author, which reveal a perfect principle applicable to every need of mankind?
Secondly: Does not individual or universal prejudice lead us to condemn what we do not understand and, like Nathanael of old, to ask "Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth?"
