Eye on the world: Prayer about fear of contagion
Here are thoughts from writers who have prayed about contagion and fear of contagion and some of the spiritual concepts that inspired them.
“Closing the door on contagion” is a comprehensive article on prayer to overcome contagion, including contagious disease. It turns thought toward God, Spirit, as the only cause and power governing man.
“In no trouble shall touch them,” the writer tells of her prayers about an earlier contagion and how she dealt with concerns regarding family members who were in an area affected by that disease.
The writer of “Prayer during an epidemic” describes a healing he had after he went back to his home country and began exhibiting some of the symptoms of the disease epidemic going on there. He writes: “For a number of years, I had been using prayer as an effective way to solve my problems, including health problems. I knew I could trust the power of prayer to help me this time, too. And though, of course, I wanted to feel better physically, I also wanted to pray for the rest of the community, too.”
