Eye on the world: Peace for Israel and its neighbors

Many long for peace in the Middle East, and now could be an especially opportune time to open thought to that possibility. According to a report in The Christian Science Monitor, “The shared threat of a nuclear Iran and militant groups like Islamic State opens the way for alliances with states such as Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia.”

From The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, by Mary Baker Eddy: “The government of Love is supreme. . . . Let us have the molecule of faith that removes mountains,--faith armed with the understanding of Love, as in divine Science, where right reigneth” (p. 278).

The writer of “Middle East Unity beyond sect or nationality” spent three months in the Middle East and notes, “As I prayed in the Holy Land, it stood out to me that the Christ, which Mary Baker Eddy defines as “the divine message from God … speaking to the human consciousness” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 332), is the only communicator, mediator, and unifier—even in an atmosphere of mistrust.”
