Eye on the world: Prayer about refugees

While news reports about refugees conjure up a picture of their helplessness and ours, we have a right to “push back” with prayer. In her book Unity of Good, Mary Baker Eddy wrote, “Man’s refuge is in spirituality, ‘under the shadow of the Almighty’” (p. 57). Claiming this protective place under God’s care for all refugees can help open the door to genuine solutions.

The author of “My prayers for Syria“ found the Bible story of Jonah a support to her prayer.

“Join the march of Mind,” an editorial in the Christian Science Sentinel, reinforces the power of spiritual solutions for the needs of refugees.

The writer of “Iraq’s refugees: homeless but not lost” worked for the US State Department, and shares his thoughts on prayer.

“Our home in God” explores the true nature of home, no matter where one is or what situation one may be facing.
