Doing the works of Jesus and greater works

Live audio chat with Marian English, C.S.B.

In her opening comments, Marian speaks of three particular points that can help us learn how to do the healing works of Jesus. First, she says that in his healing ministry Jesus relied not on a personal sense of healing power but on the law of God—a law that is available to every one of us. Second, the law of God is given in the Ten Commandments, which Jesus crystallized into two powerful rules: to love God with all our heart and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Third, that love of God is more than human emotion—it’s the very expression of the divine nature of man, the Christ, or the Son of God.

Understanding these points, we are enabled to heal, and to do more of the works that Jesus did. Marian explains that the “greater works” Jesus referred to might not necessarily mean doing more impressive works than healing the sick and raising the dead, but instead could mean that we do more of those works on a worldwide scale.

Marian goes on to answer a number of questions about how to heal as Jesus did, and she gives helpful, compassionate, and insightful ideas for all of us to consider in our work as healers.
