Guidance

Divine Sonship

Love lies securely hid in every breast,Our common birthright of divine descent; And he whose every energy is spentClaiming his sonship, is most surely blest.

"An understanding heart"

Dear Lord, I do not ask that Thou wilt give increaseOf wealth, possessions, earthly things, that soon will cease.

Gardening

Let me uproot this acrid herb,Leaving no tendriled bitternessTo clutch the heart, and choking curbIts native impulse sown to bless.

On Holy Ground

Tread not with ruthless foot upon the tenderGrowing things: so small they are and slender,So hardly seen they must be sought amongThe stronger herbs—these tiny things so young!Look here again, where gnarled and knotted rootsBecome quite green with probing, fragile shoots! And some, being late, have not begun to showTheir growth, which may seem hesitant and slow—But it is there!
