Unafraid

Since I have known the wonder of God's might,The radiant dawn of His eternal light,And know that all is good that He has made,How can I be afraid?

The Lecturer Prays

Father, in this dear hour of selflessnessTake Thou my utterance wholly unto Thee,To speak as one who follows him who spakeAs never mortal spake; that not aloneShall he who comes in prayer, rewarded go,But even more that he who comes to bindShall cast away the chains, and witness bear; That those who sit in darkness may discernThe open door of Mind, where all who willMay freedom find if they but go that way.

Reflection

Beside the road a pool, small but serene,Heedless of hurried toil, watching the sky,Became a jewel of iridescent sheen,Offering its beauty to each passer-by.

"Master , we perish," the disciples cried.

As I Study the Lesson

I like to think how once he stoodUpon the shore of Galilee,And how the rising water stilledAs he rebuked the storm-tossed sea.

Reflection

In the quiet stillnessOf my thought at rest,There will I know Thee,Lord, forever blest.

Security

Within the covert of Thy wings I rest;No human shelter can include such peace.

Security

Within Thy shelter, Love divine,No evil thoughts assail; In Thy pure presence, peace is mine;No error can prevail.

The Staff
