Infinite Good

Within the consciousness of LoveNo stinted portion do I findOf the unbroken affluenceProceeding from omniscient Mind.

That Good Part

Too long have I, Martha, duty bent,Strained 'neath the load of every day's demandsOf mortal living; anxious, uninspiredBy daily round of tasks that always seemedLegitimate; by my own strength aloneSeeking to serve, to comfort, to supply.

Unity

Green spring brings forth the joyous bird,Brown autumn sees it flown; But ever steadfast is Thy Word,And I am not alone.

The Man God Knows

The man God knows dwells not in confines drearOf matter's bounds; he lives in Mind, pure, free,Untouched of earth, in holy ecstasy,And knows himself to be Love's image dear.

Unafraid

Since I have known the wonder of God's might,The radiant dawn of His eternal light,And know that all is good that He has made,How can I be afraid?

The Lecturer Prays

Father, in this dear hour of selflessnessTake Thou my utterance wholly unto Thee,To speak as one who follows him who spakeAs never mortal spake; that not aloneShall he who comes in prayer, rewarded go,But even more that he who comes to bindShall cast away the chains, and witness bear; That those who sit in darkness may discernThe open door of Mind, where all who willMay freedom find if they but go that way.

Loss Is Gain

I turned aside from thought of mortal gain,Seeing that earthly things will fade away;I gave up dreaming, seeing the promise vainThat paints a glowing picture out of clay; There is no hope within the fragile seemingThat finds its shallow life in idle dreaming.

Reflection

Beside the road a pool, small but serene,Heedless of hurried toil, watching the sky,Became a jewel of iridescent sheen,Offering its beauty to each passer-by.

Lesson for the Hour

The little children, as he went,Drew to his side in sweet content;Their gentle hearts were stirred.
