Perhaps
it is possible for only a small percentage of the students of Christian Science to associate exclusively with those whose leading interest in life is Christian Science, and to the many therefore the question is often presented, as to how they shall fashion their intercourse so that those with whom they are brought in contact may be uplifted and blessed.

It should be recognized that Christian Scientists do not give their children the benefit of Christian Science treatment by reason of any fanaticism or mere obstinacy, but because they have found such treatment to be the surest and safest means of combating disease; in other words, these parents are acting in accordance with the results of personal experience, and thus with the dictates of common sense.

the text-book of Christian Science we read, "The so-called pleasures and pains of matter perish; and they must go out under the blaze of Truth, spiritual sense, and the actuality of being.
Before
the advent of Christian Science people were often taught on retiring for the night to think over all that they had done or left undone during the day and to spend much time in grieving over the day's sins of omission and of commission.
