One
fruitful source of prejudice against Christian Science unquestionably lies in the fact that many well-meaning Scientists too often make statements which other people do not understand, and which might bear better fruit if expressed differently and with greater care.
Just
a year ago Thanksgiving Day, we held our first service in the comfortable rooms which we now occupy, and only those who have had a similar experience can understand our satisfaction and happiness in the manifestation of harmony which has been brought out by loving hearts and willing hands.
The Christian Scientists proceed from the premise that all things are possible to God, and that not the least of these powers is ability, willingness, and desire to heal the maimed and the sick.
The reasonableness of its theory and the evident practical results of its application in healing the afflicted and reforming the depraved, makes Christian Science that which appeals to and satisfies those who turn to it in time of need.
Christian Science recognizes that humanity needs help, needs mental, moral, and spiritual stimulus and a larger faith, not only in themselves, but in God; and recognizing these truths, it endeavors to implant that understanding of God's presence, availability, and power which alone can heal and save.
The
error which causes sickness is always Truth's opposite, a lie; hence it is the understanding of the truth concering God, and man in his relations to God, which heals.
