that great spiritual record, the Bible, we find many instances of the obstinate desire of mortals to be ruled only by material beliefs, and of their resistance to spiritual guidance.
Any
uncertainty as to the meaning of spirituality and any possible lack of interest in it disappear naturally through the understanding of Christian Science.
To
most people the thought of law implies restriction, when instead we should at least think of law as protection; and as we gain a clearer sense of the infinite Lawgiver, divine Mind, we shall understand that obedience to God's law brings freedom at all times and under all circumstances.
It
has been wisely said that just as Moses struck the rock in the wilderness and water enough and to spare came forth, so we ourselves, when feeling that life is sterile and dreary, may strike through appearances and find spiritual refreshment gushing to us where drought appeared to be.
Because
one woman was pure enough to receive divine inspiration, loving enough to share it, and faithful enough to stand by it against the ridicule, opposition, and hatred of the world, all mankind may now rejoice in the truths of Christian Science and receive of its blessings and rich rewards.
