George W. Martin, Committee on Publication for Victoria, Australia,
The condemnation of Christian Science by a bishop in the Herald as "a religious as well as a medical heresy," merely because its teachings have brought relief to suffering humanity through spiritual means instead of with material remedies, is unusual in these days of enlightenment.
William Wallace Porter, Committee on Publication for the State of New York,
May I ask your brief indulgence in referring to a letter which appeared in the Times-Union of April 9 from a clergyman, commenting on my letter in your issue of April 2.
It
is recorded that at the close of the last supper, when they had sung a hymn, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Mount of Olives, and there he continued talking with them.
All
of the world's problems arise from the fact that men do not consistently and constantly keep God's commandments, that they are not "continuing instant" in prayer.
