When I was a child I was taught that God is the loving and ever-present Spirit and I believed Him to be especially fond of good children.
If a patient or student in Christian Science would think of himself and his healer or teacher as being the only occupants of a boat upon a storm-tossed sea, and then ask himself, "Shall I bend my energies and lend my strength to the oars, and assist the strong, experienced sailor to bring the frail craft out of danger, and into a harbor of safety?

A Little Lesson

Last evening as I sat on our front porch, my little boy of eight, was playing in front of the house placing stones to form a dam for the water which was flowing down the street just after a shower.
After beginning my acquaintance with Christian Science as the exposition and realization of the law of Love, I was for some time in doubt as to the meaning of such passages as we find in Psalm 23:4, 5, and in Isaiah, 41:11.
It is with loving thankfulness that I also would join "the ever-increasing throng of grateful ones" and express my appreciation for the comfort and good cheer that have come to us through the many channels of divine Love, meeting our every need.
