Injuries from bike crash healed
One day in November 2025, I was feeling deeply inspired by articles in the Sentinel and The Christian Science Journal. I decided to celebrate the truths I was learning by taking a bike ride. I had been a competitive bicycle racer in the past, but now my goal was simply to express the freedom and joy of Mind, a synonym for God.
Since this was the Friday immediately following the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States—widely known as Black Friday, involving massive crowds of shoppers—I was mindful of the increased traffic. At one point, though, my bike computer wasn’t working correctly, and I briefly looked down to adjust the settings. When I looked up, I was just a few feet from a minivan parked in the bike lane, and there wasn’t time to brake or even raise my hands to shield myself from the force of the collision.
At that moment, I remembered the fact that thought is nearly instantaneous—certainly faster than my bike. And to my thought came a spiritual intuition: “Do not be impressed. This is nothing.” This intuition was based on a divine fact I had gained from studying Christian Science: that accidents can have no reality or effect because the all-good God, Spirit, creates and causes nothing unlike Him.
