Quick healing of toothache
One of my favorite ideas when praying is from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by the Discoverer of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy. Using Mind as a synonym for God, it says: “The effect of this Science is to stir the human mind to a change of base, on which it may yield to the harmony of the divine Mind” (p. 162).
Indeed, I’ve found that Christian Science does stir our thoughts to a completely different way of thinking.
Though we seem to live in a material world, the Bible tells us that we are spiritual because God—whom the Bible also tells us is Spirit—created us in His image and likeness (see John 4:24 and Genesis 1:26, 27). And turning our thoughts to God in prayer helps us to better understand our true, wholly spiritual nature.
