Responding to Love
A couple of years ago, I awoke with a strong sensation of vertigo. I had trouble standing, walking around my home, and sitting up. Initially, I didn’t do anything about it except fret. But I’m grateful to say that later in the day, I asked a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me, and by the next morning, I was back to normal.
I noticed, however, that every few weeks, a mild lightheadedness and dizziness would creep in. While sometimes I would pray, affirming God’s love for me, consciously saying no to the dizziness, and reciting lines of Scripture, I mostly tried to ignore the problem. And ignoring something is not Christian Science treatment.
Over a few days, the symptoms would grow stronger, until I would call a practitioner again and the symptoms would dissipate. Dissipate, yes. But leave, never to return? No. I did not have the problem diagnosed but felt it had something to do with blood pressure.
