Quick recovery after twisting a knee
One day years ago, I severely twisted my knee while hiking. This made me fearful because I was in a remote area with no help close by. I knew of someone (not a Christian Scientist) who had had a similar injury, and it took a long time for the knee to recover.
With the understanding of our Father-Mother God and our relationship to Her that Christian Science teaches, I prayed to overcome fear. The Bible says, “The Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us” (Isaiah 33:22). I affirmed that the kingdom of heaven—of spiritual harmony—is ever present and the only reality for each and every one of us. Discord is no part of this kingdom and therefore not real, so I knew I had the God-given authority to cast it out of thought, and I did so. That night I stayed at a hiking hut in the area. The next morning, I was able to hike back to the village and continue with my travels. Within a few days, my knee was completely normal.
Since then, there have been instances when I have twisted the same knee, but each time I declared that I had already proven I was under God’s harmonious government, and this silenced the fear of injury, resulting in healing. I have had other experiences, too, where overcoming fear was the key to healing.
