Enlarged heart healed

In July 2017, my wife felt a heart murmur that frightened her. Although supportive of my study of Christian Science, she was not a student of this Science herself, so she decided to consult a medical specialist.

The cardiologist who examined her didn’t notice anything worrisome about the murmur, but he was concerned about the size of her heart, which was very large. He told her she had a serious heart abnormality and predicted that the condition would continue to grow worse.

Returning to the house, my wife told me about the diagnosis and asked me to pray for her, saying, “I’m putting my trust in God.” While she read articles from The Herald of Christian Science on the subject of removing fear from thought, I put into practice what I’d learned about treating disease metaphysically. Turning to God in prayer, I affirmed that our heavenly Father is the sovereign authority who creates and governs all in His spiritual universe. As divine Principle, God is the only lawmaker, and His laws are just and harmonious.
