Ankle injury healed
I scrambled off rocks and bounded up inclines one summer in the mountains while I was praying with the “Daily Prayer” from the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy (see p. 41). It was my first time living on my own, and I was enjoying some free time on the weekend before starting an internship. During my jaunt, I felt inspired not just to repeat the “Daily Prayer” but to deeply consider what it meant for me.
A few minutes later, in an attempt to maneuver over a large rock, I heard a loud pop accompanied by great discomfort in my ankle. As I half-walked, half-jogged down the trail, I tripped and heard a second noise from my ankle, this time followed by intense pain. I felt shaken by these rapid-fire events.
Unhelpful questions began to swirl in my thoughts. They went something like, “This feels like a bad injury … what if I can’t make it to my internship in a few days?”
