God doesn’t age—neither does His reflection
I was not looking forward to the summer. My older daughter had decided to spend her summer living in another part of the state, near her father. My younger daughter would be working a summer job on an island just off the northern tip of Michigan. What would I do? Summers had always been full of fun adventures with my daughters.
The prospect of the summer seemed bleak to me. It also seemed to point to what my life would be like once my daughters had grown—growing old and feeling empty. Friends at work offered advice on “empty nesting” and how to make the most of inevitable life changes, but this only seemed to make things worse.
I have always found answers and experienced healing through my study of Christian Science. I knew deep down that real happiness comes from God and is expressed in an unselfed love. I was confident that this feeling of bleakness would be healed through prayer.
