Does your relationship with God include this?
Pomegranates? It was a detail in my last rereading of the Bible that stood out to me as it never had before. Just what was so important about this fruit that it had to be embroidered on the garment the high priest wore to stand in the presence of God? And what did it have to say to me today?
Pomegranates were a fruit I never encountered in my youth. But I remembered how special the apples, berries, tomatoes, and fresh corn were that we would buy at the roadside farm stands in late summer and take home with us. Sure beat the canned and frozen produce we had the rest of the year!
There’s a natural thankfulness that we feel with each fresh harvest—a tangible sense of the abundance of God’s grace embracing humanity.
