A financial need is supplied
I have appreciated knowing that God is Love ever since I first attended the Christian Science Sunday School at the age of ten. I was taught that as a child of God I was loved and cared for by Him. One of my favorite texts by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, states, “Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 494).
As I grew up, I had many demonstrations of my needs being met by God when I turned to Him in prayer and listened for His guidance. A demonstration of supply I had when my four children were young particularly stands out to me.
My husband and I had chosen to send our two girls to a small independent school, and we intended to send our two younger boys there, too. We believed that even though we had decided I would be a stay-at-home mother and would not be making a financial contribution myself, we would be able to afford the school fees from my husband’s salary. However, we found that we were financially stretched and I longed to be able to help, although I did not see how that could be possible.
