Letters

I am forever grateful for the courage and love individuals have for the healing art of Christian Science expressed in reports of healings in this magazine. This is a recent shift in thinking for me as I avoided reading the News of Healing section for as long as I can remember. Bitter feelings, like healing wasn’t happening in my own life, caused this. I don’t know when or how those feelings disappeared, but within the past three years, I began reading these testimonies. Now, they’re often the first section I read. I have found many, many helpful, life-affirming ideas in these reports. A huge thank you to everyone who has ever contributed healing experiences to this magazine . . . and for those yet to come!

Abby Hillman’s article “Forsaken by God?” in the April 2 Sentinel was very valuable and helpful. I, too, have felt how important it is to see the message of Psalm 22 as a complete unit, rather than dwell only on the rather bleak appearance of its first line, as though that was its main message (“My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”). She points out that when one considers the whole poem, it becomes a song of healing, just like a Christian Science treatment.
