Healed of excessive bleeding
I was in the beauty shop when I overheard a conversation that described the symptoms I was experiencing—excessive bleeding. The beauty parlor diagnosis was “fibroid tumors” that would necessitate surgery. As a longtime student of the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, I knew that there was an alternative remedy.
I had long loved the courage of the woman in the Bible who had “an issue of blood” and was instantly healed when she touched Jesus’ garment (see Mark 5:25–34). I felt that the healing Christ was available for me, too.
But despite earnest prayer, there were days when I simply couldn’t leave the house. Then one day I fainted in the bathroom. Realizing at this point the need for additional help, I contacted a Christian Science practitioner, who is also my teacher of Christian Science, and asked him to support me through prayer.
