I was so happy to read in Christine Driessen’s article, “Our pastor: the foundation for Christian healing” in the August 20 Sentinel [“An appointment with the pastor”], that she reads the weekly Bible Lesson from the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy. I love myBibleLesson and the audio Bible Lesson and have one or both with me almost all of the time, and for a while used them pretty much exclusively. But I recently started marking my books again and studying from them. Why? Because I love knowing where the passages are in the books and reading outside the markings to see the larger intent and related ideas. The books are my pastor, too, and I love getting to know them.

I’m grateful for the many helpful points made in Christine Driessen’s article “Our pastor: the foundation for Christian healing.” However, I’m disappointed to read, “how much more we can learn about God and His creation by going directly to His Word—the actual Bible and Science and Health.”
