Continuing to shine
When a dear friend passed on recently, I was hit with a wave of grief. My heart cried out: “Oh no, it can’t be true. Surely not!”
Indeed it can’t be true, because life is eternal—the forever being. This message reporting a death, though deeply sad, was not the last word that I had to listen to.
When the sun sets, we confirm that night has fallen; the day is over. From the earth’s view, the material angle, we have sunsets. But looking out from the sun, there is no sunset—just the continual shining of light. Our friends who pass from our experience continue to shine, and live, and love, and share in their ongoing expression of eternal Life, God.
