Not lucky, but blessed
I recently shared this thought with a young Christian man who thought that the word luck was related to the word Lucifer or devil. Although I did not find this meaning substantiated in the dictionary, I could easily connect with this idea, because as Christians and Christian Scientists, we work daily to cast out the devil, evil—the lie about men and women being separate from God, good, from Spirit, Life, Truth, and Love.
Luck has the strong connotation of either I win and you lose, or vice versa. With luck, the money I win comes out of your pocket and goes into mine, and vice versa. Lady Luck takes turns and is notably fickle! And just when you want to count on her, she’s gone.
