Feel wealthy in spirit

Have you ever wished money grew on trees? I haven’t seen that happen, but I have seen money appear in unusual and unexpected ways when I put my faith in God and His true supply. I have had several proofs of God supplying my needs over the past 25 years, from which I've taken comfort again and again—especially in light of today’s tough economic climate.

My first big experience took place when I was a junior in college. I was to participate in a trip to China, going there to study and travel with my teachers and fellow students for several months. Needless to say, it was the opportunity of a lifetime. But the trip was expensive; I worked as much as possible to earn extra money and my family did everything they could to help, but as the trip drew closer it looked like I was going to be short on funds. I was disappointed, frustrated, and worried that I would not be able to go. It felt like time was running out. I knew my family was doing their best to provide for me, and I had worked and made as much extra money as I could, but it just wasn’t going to be enough.

As a student of Christian Science, I had learned to rely on God in every situation. I’d had many physical healings, but this time I needed to demonstrate Christian Science in a different, “grown up” way.
