Walking in the light
For the lesson titled "Christ Jesus" from August 22-28, 2011
This week’s Bible Lesson, titled “Christ Jesus,” begins with Jesus’ declaration: “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12, Golden Text, New International Version). These words are repeated in the healing of the adulterous woman described in Section III (citation 7).
Our enlightened, spiritual understanding is the way of salvation out of darkness.
This Lesson explains that we see evidence of the fulfillment of Jesus’ prophecy by our demonstration of this light. Our enlightened, spiritual understanding is the way of salvation out of darkness. This is seen in the healing of sin, sickness, and death in Jesus’ ministry, and can be shown by our discipleship and our practice of Christian Science healing today.
