TOOTH PAIN HEALED

One night about two years ago, shortly after I had started sleeping, I awoke in acute tooth pain. I had never experienced tooth problems before, but my wife had (she had had two teeth extracted on different occasions), and I was worried because her experiences had been quite painful.

As soon as I woke up, I asked myself, "Is this pain what it means to reflect God's being?" And the answer came: "No—this is nothing but deception, a lie, if existence means reflecting and experiencing harmony." I saw that I couldn't give my consent to falsity.

The pain quickly receded, and I soon went back to sleep. In the morning, however, there was still some pain and my jaw was swollen. As I lay there, I remembered one sentence in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: "All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all" (Mary Baker Eddy, p. 468).
