FORWARD STEPS FOR SUNDAY SCHOOL

The Superintendent of The Mother Church's Sunday School shares insights and updates.

"... Progress is the law of God , ..."

(Science and Health, p. 233). It's hard to skim over those powerful words from the Christian Science textbook. I just love where this statement leads—to the realization that everything good and meaningful has a divine origin and is dynamic, never static.

In my role as superintendent of The Mother Church Sunday School (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts), I spend a lot of time thinking about the blessings and demands of church membership. And I've come to realize that, as members, we need to be aware of God's demands on us and be willing to listen and take forward steps to demonstrate, prove, Church as "the structure of Truth and Love" (Science and Health, p. 583). And this includes embracing Sunday School.
